Venice in a day tour is a 3 hours and half combined venice tour, the best way to spend half day in Venice. The tour is composed of four parts and allows you to discover all of Venice’s most important places including the skip-the-line entrance to the Saint Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace.

You'll start your day with a shared gondola ride that takes you on a 30-minute round trip along the Grand Canal and through the smaller canals. It is the perfect way to appreciate the beauty, charm and colour of this unique city built on water. Feel part of an ancient Venetian tradition and experience Venice as the locals have for more than a thousand years.

Than, you will take a short walk and, accompained by your english speaking guide, be intrigued by the fascinating history of La Serenissima and enter with your skip-the-line ticket into the Saint Mark’s Basilica. It also includes entrance fees to get a closer look at the breath taking mosaics and the “Pala d’Oro” (Golden altar), universally recognized as one of the most refined and accomplished works of Byzantine craftsmanship.

We than continue to skip-the-line with our special pass into the Doge’s Palace, crossing the Bridge of Sighs and visiting its prisons cells. The Palace is a magnificent combination of Byzantine, Gothic and Renaissance architecture, in the heart of Venice. Once the residence of the Doge, the elected ruler of the city, and his counsellors, it became the centre of the Venetian Empire and the seat of the Government. The Doge's Palace was opened as a museum in 1923.

After the Doge's Palace, at 16:30, you'll finish your venice in a day picking-up a private motor launch (water taxi) which will take you 1-hour along the most spectacular high street in the world "Venice’s Grand Canal" giving you a great overall view of the city covering many of the “sestieri” (areas).

If you only have one day or several, this is the perfect tour. Two hours was just the right amount of time to hold my attention, and the tour really deepened my understanding of the different cultures that have inhabited Venice over the years. My wife and I took the tour after a couple days of exploring first, but could easily have taken the tour the first day and still had time to explore the city if we were pushed for time.Additionally, the price is excellent relative to other tours, and the gondola option at the end is also very nice at a relatively cheaper cost as well.

My husband and I had a tour of San Marcos Basiclica and square. We then went on to Doges. We also had a boat tour of the grand canal. All the guides were excellent and provided a satisfactory tour explaining all the details of the history.

Arriving early in the morning to catch a boat/taxi to Venice is a promising start to see the 'Floating City'. Passing all the islands with all their individual histories is educational in it's own right. Then to disembark and begin the amazing experience:the sights are amazing, linked to the history from a fluent knowledgeable guide the City comes alive. The Bridge of Sighs (why is it so called?), the famous Ponta Vecchia (eat lunch within sight - the meal is dearer than elsewhere, but the Gondolas, Gondoliers and the general atmosphere is worth it). Climb the towers of the churches and look over the roofs. You must return to see it again, perhaps stay over and start again the next day!
  • A quick tour of Venice

I had family visiting me here in Italy and we only had a day to spend in Venice so this tour was recommended to me by someone. I have to say for the price and what you got it was a good deal and you saw Venice. The gondola ride was was beautiful and relaxing. Was about 30 minutes, the only thing I didn't care for was that it was very busy so basically you are a line of gondola's going up and down the paths but it was nice. Then you had a small break to go get a coffee before you met up again for the tour of St. Mark's Basilica and the Doge's Palace. This was my favorite part. The tour guide was fabulous! You skip all the lines and it's just beautiful. Just an FYI your ticket into the basilica does NOT include going to the top of the church to walk around. BUT hey you skipped all the lines! And they are long. Then you break for a few hours to have lunch and then meet up again for the Grand Canal boat tour. The guide was great and was very well informed of the history. My only complaint on this part of the tour was the boat itself. Not everyone could stand up in it to take pics. You either had to be at the end of the boat or the front of the boat. But it was nice to take the cruise and see all the beautiful buildings. All in all I think you get alot for your money and you really do see alot in one day. I will be taking other guests to take this tour again because you do skip lines and you do see Venice....
